    COMPANY:

    We take a surgical approach to demolition in order to salvage and recycle building materials. The majority of what we recover makes its way to our retail warehouse, where the focus is on organization, resale, and connecting customers with quality reclaimed materials.

    At our retail warehouse, we’re passionate about sustainability and giving new life to old materials. We sort, organize, and display reclaimed lumber, cabinetry, fixtures, and more so they’re accessible to builders, makers, and homeowners.

    We’re looking for a Reclaimed Warehouse Retail Associate to support this mission by receiving and organizing reclaimed materials, managing inventory, assisting customers, and maintaining a clean and safe workspace. This role balances hands-on warehouse work with customer service and online sales, ensuring our reclaimed goods find their next use. At full-time, it involves roughly 16 hours of online material posting and 24 hours of hands-on customer service and warehouse organization. Our warehouse is both a retail store and a hub for sustainability, and we’re excited to welcome someone who shares our passion for giving materials a second life.

    POSITION TYPE:

    Hours & Schedule: 5 days per week, Monday through Saturday, typically in 8.5-hour shifts (including breaks). This is a full-time position.

    Pay & Benefits:

    • Hourly Pay: $22.00 - $25.00, based on experience and qualifications

    • Commission: Earn commission on sales after the first 30 days

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Inventory and Organization: Receive incoming reclaimed materials, inspect quality, and accurately record inventory while keeping the retail warehouse efficient, safe, and accessible. Use creative problem-solving to organize unique, one-of-a-kind items in ways that make them easy for customers to browse.

    • Customer Service & Sales: Assist customers in finding and selecting materials, offering knowledgeable guidance on reclaimed lumber, fixtures, and other salvaged items. Communicate clearly and professionally, helping customers understand both product details and the value of reuse.

    • Forklift Operation: Safely operate a forklift (training available) to move, bundle, and organize materials. Perform light prep work when needed, such as bundling, measuring, or cleaning reclaimed items.

    • Cash Handling & Transactions: Process sales accurately, handle cash responsibly, and keep clear sales and inventory records using POS and digital systems.

    • Online Listings & Digital Work: Create and maintain online product listings with clear descriptions, accurate pricing, and timely updates. Balance hands-on warehouse work with digital retail tasks, ensuring inventory is tracked both physically and online.

    • Safety & Cleanliness: Maintain a safe, clean, and organized warehouse environment, proactively identifying and addressing potential hazards.

    • Independent & Team Work: Manage daily responsibilities independently on solo days, making confident decisions and solving problems as they arise. Collaborate effectively with teammates on shared projects, providing proactive communication and timely updates to keep everyone aligned.

    Success in This Role Looks Like

    • Supports the Warehouse Manager with all retail related tasks - both in the Warehouse and online.

    • Warehouse operations run smoothly due to attention to details and ability to prioritize tasks.

    • Warehouse inventory is organized and displayed in a manner conducive to shopping.

    • A high level of accountability - meets all goals related to online merchandising and sales.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Cash Handling & POS: Comfortable with transactions and recordkeeping.

    • Computer Skills: Proficient with MacOS and iOS, Google Suite, POS systems, Social Media and online platforms; comfortable using computers, tablets, and mobile devices.

    • Adaptable and Reliable: Stays steady in a fast-paced, changing environment.

    • Interest in Sustainability and Reclaimed Materials: Genuine interest in reuse, reclaimed materials, and eco-friendly practices.

    • Strong Communicator: Clear, effective verbal skills; Spanish a plus.

    Perks Deconstruction takes a surgical approach to demolition in order to salvage and recycle building materials. We dismantle and divert full houses, kitchen/baths, garages, and commercial spaces from the landfill. Oftentimes, we donate the materials to non-profits. We do business differently. We are the cleanest subcontractor on the jobsite and are driven by our passion to increase the reuse culture in Colorado. 40% of Colorado landfills consist of construction and demolition debris and we believe deconstruction to be a critical tool for reducing that number.

    ABOUT THE ROLE:

    The Sales/Estimator plays a vital role in driving Perks Deconstruction’s growth while ensuring projects are well planned and executed. This role balances client engagement, sales development, and accurate estimating with elements of project management, ensuring a smooth handoff to production and ongoing support during project execution.

    You’ll be responsible for cultivating relationships with general contractors, architects, and homeowners; generating and closing bids; and ensuring projects move seamlessly from estimate to completion. You will also support the project management team with scope clarification, jobsite coordination, and communication with clients during the project lifecycle. This role operates within established estimating systems, pricing frameworks, and sales processes designed to support success in achieving KPIs and performance bonuses.

    This is a full-time position (40 hours per week, Mon–Fri) that involves jobsite travel around Denver/Boulder, as well as office and remote work.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Client Engagement and Estimation

    • Conduct timely job walks, follow up on leads within 24 hours, and provide estimates within 1-5 business days.

    • Attend scheduled in-person estimates with clients, representing Perks with professionalism.

    • Listen to client needs, provide clear project details, and prepare bid packages for each client.

    • Provide clients with resources for appraisers, maintain donation documentation, and organize receipts.

    2. Project Planning and Collaboration

    • Work with the project management and foreman teams to ensure a smooth job transfer of estimates and a shared understanding of project scope.

    • Collaborate with the team to review bid documents, ensuring thorough collection and analysis of architectural drawings and project specifications.

    • The Estimator will manage up to 6–10 bids per week and respond to questions on active job sites to support project execution. 3. Estimation Accuracy and Reporting

    • All project estimates must be reviewed and approved by management before being presented to the client.

    • Ensure all reference materials, such as architectural drawings and specifications, are collected and analyzed thoroughly.

    • Prepare and submit bid packages per established company standards, ensuring all documentation is complete and approved before final submission and the bid closing date.

    • Allocate time towards improving estimating processes and enhancing professional development.

    4. Administrative and Reporting Responsibilities

    • 65% computer-based work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment—work from the office, a coffee shop, or remotely while managing bids, uploading photos and notes, emailing clients, and updating Buildertrend. The other 35% involves site visits, client interactions, and problem-solving in the field.

    • Maintain updated records in Buildertrend, including personal time clock, project scheduling, daily logs, and photos.

    • Regularly review and update cost and unit tracking in the estimating template every two months.

    • Maintain organized digital records in Buildertrend for all bids, communications, and follow-ups.

    5. Project Management Support

    • Serve as point of contact for questions during active jobs to ensure the project runs as scoped

    • Participate in kickoff meetings with foremen/project managers to ensure full understanding of client expectations and site conditions.

    • Track and communicate change orders to both client and internal teams.

    • Ensure Buildertrend is updated with accurate scheduling, daily logs, photos, and scope notes.

    ESSENTIAL TASKS AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

    • Uphold Perks standards for service, quality, and safety by being professional, knowledgeable, and communicating clearly.

    • Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills to build client trust and effectively prioritize, organize, and manage estimates.

    • General knowledge of estimating techniques and material and labor pricing

    • Must be able to read blueprints and determine deconstruction scope requirements with a high level of attention to detail

    • Ensure that estimates are serving the business and our customers efficiently

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors and homeowners

    COMPENSATION:

    • $70,000-$80,000 salary and a company vehicle to drive to jobsites

    • Performance bonus potential: $15,000

    • Paid Vacation: Employees receive 80 hours of paid vacation during their first year of employment, increasing to 100 hours annually beginning in year two

    • Medical Insurance: The company pays up to 75% of the premium for the Anthem Silver plan. Dental and vision plans are available.
